Resolutions Happen, Adjustments Change Lives!

8 Days to Authenticity Cover mock thumbnailResolutions Happen, Adjustments Change Lives

Back on the eve of New Year’s Eve I wrote about my ritual for the transition to the new year, and about how I reflect and contemplate the adjustments I want to consider for the year to come. Frankly, I feel like resolutions have become a “thing” with little meaning beyond that, and – if you believe statistics – by this time in the new year most of us have failed the resolutions and moved on to going back to where we were a couple of months ago.

Adjustments, on the other hand, have nothing quite so dramatic about them. They are simply efforts to fine tune things going forward based on data collected and where things stand today relative to those. Unlike resolutions, adjustments become part of the regular, even daily, routine; they constantly, not once a year.

Also, unlike resolutions, there are no failures with adjustments. Think of an airplane: As an airplane flies from one city to the next it is always off course because of the nature of flight. The course requires constant adjustments to get it safely where it’s going. Life is the same.

Perhaps the biggest reason most New Year’s resolutions are pre-destined to fail is that we treat them like annual events that we build up to, they happen, we make (and often while altered in one way or another), and then we put them away until next year. Life is not the same.

So where are you at now, as February is upon us? Have you made resolutions this year or are your adjustments in process? Are you feeling off track?

I think the best way to get back on track or to keep things moving at warp speed is to download and use my Free 8 Days to Authenticity e-Workbook. You will get seven simple tasks – one each for the next seven days, and then one more to tie them all together on the eight day.

Why not give it a try? It’s yours for the downloading! And it just might change your life!
